The Nappanee Missionary Church
began its ministry in the late 1870s under the influence of Daniel
Brenneman, a local minister who had experienced the moving of God's
Spirit. For nearly 100 years the church was located in the center of
Nappanee, IN. In the mid '70s God began to do a special work in the
life of this fellowship, and a decision was made to relocate from the
original downtown location.
In 1979 Dave
Engbrecht (current senior pastor) became the church's pastor, and a few
months later ground was purchased to begin the church's relocation. In
July of 1981 the congregation moved to its current location. In 1985
the original sanctuary was doubled in size, and in 1988 the Family Life
Center was constructed. "Building a Generation of Champions" was the
theme that led the congregation into building the Youth Ministry Center
in 1990. The current Worship Center was added in 1995. In 2002 the
facility was nearly doubled in size with the addition of a Grand Hall,
Children's Ministry Center, Student Ministry Center, and Gymnasium.
In 2005 NMC began a
regional video venue ministry in LaGrange County with the start of New
Life Fellowship. Since then, NMC has also added a video venue in
Mishawaka, Harvest Community Church.
Our congregation is
marked by a passion "to make fully committed disciples." During this
period of time God has allowed us to equip many men and women for full
time vocational Christian ministry. Throughout the years NMC has always
believed that "OUR GREATEST DAYS ARE JUST AHEAD!"
